A tree is not just leaves and branches, it’s home for all the thousands of animals that inhabit it and rely on it for food. The lower Kinabatangan Rainforest in Borneo is one of the world’s most important ecosystems, home to 9 species of primates including orangutans and proboscis monkeys, as well as pigmy elephants, clouded leopards, sun bears and wild cats.
However, it’s also one of the most degraded and logged areas in Asia, putting many endangered species at imminent risk of extinction.
