Ta Lek village is situated within the Beng Pae Wildlife Reserve and includes a community managed forest that is protected from clearance. However, due to a sharp increase in the local population harvesting timber for building, firewood and crafts, the forest resources are being depleted far quicker than they can be replaced. This project aims to reforest degraded areas and then put a system in place to regulate future harvesting, ensuring long term sustainability of this precious resource for future generations.
